God told the ancient Israelites that He would do something that they wouldn’t believe, even if they were told (Habakkuk 1:5). They never expected what happened in their day (the rise of the Babylonian Empire), and we often are caught trying to trap God in our tiny expectations.
God has escaped the trap.
He has raised $151,000 in 2 1/2 months (we started raising money on March 15). This is enough for our $125,000 deposit, and the $25,000 of needed improvements that we estimated. God has decided that we needed more than just improvements – so we are dreaming bigger! We have gone beyond paint, and started dreaming about bigger things – including knocking down walls to expand the entryway, getting carpet in the entryway, and sending out a mailer or doorhangers to the community to let them know there is a new church in their neighborhood! God is bigger than our dreams.
Can you see the Spirit? Can you sense how He is moving?
This is not just a lesson for our church family, but for every person. What lessons can you learn about finances and being generous? What lessons can you pick up about being generous? Can you learn not to limit the Lord? Can you see that when you are following the Lord and dreaming for Him, He will often dream even bigger for you?
Let’s keep dreaming.
Let’s dream about new people coming to Jesus and knowing His powerful love and life-changing hope. Let’s dream about kids and youth and college/career ministries growing and changing the next generation. Let’s dream about adults who live without fear and do great things with Christ. The building is not what we dream about; the property is only a tool for His ministry. It is all about being Fully Devoted Followers of Christ. Let’s keep dreaming bigger and bigger with our God who is bigger than all.
We are going to keep raising money and dreaming with Jesus. We are planning on the work we can do beyond $150,000. We are dreaming bigger with Jesus. Escrow closes on July 16 – and it will be time to work together – and keep dreaming. Our first service will be September 13 – we will open the doors, have two services, and keep dreaming with Jesus. We will have a Grand Opening in October and invite the community to come in and dream with us – as God transforms one life after another.
Are you ready to dream bigger with Jesus?
