I am looking back on an incredible summer, and thanking God for all of the incredible things He has done in the life of our church in the last few months. We have become an official member church, signing our charter membership a few weeks ago. We have served kids with special needs and our youth and college groups went to San Diego on a mission trip. God is so good, and I can’t wait to see all of the incredible things He is going to do in so many lives this Fall. There are so many stories of what God is doing in people’s hearts at our church.
These are the stories that drive me to want to reach more people for Christ. Church makes a difference. Jesus makes ALL the difference. Serving Him, life WITH Him – it changes us – it is different than living for ourselves, or trying to just be good people on our own – there is purpose, and calling and belonging. So as we head into the Fall – find that passion to reach out – life with God is truly different.
Start by praying – pray that those who walk with God will feel the pull to reach out to others, and share the joy of Christ, and care for people. Invite others to come with you to Covenant Grove, or any church! And even hit the like button on Facebook, or pass on a tweet if you are on Twitter, take a photo of church on Instagram – those are easy ways to let people know that church and Jesus are a big part of your life, and you can invite them.
I am excited for the Fall – for the donuts, for the radio ads, for the fun times we have, for the birthday cake and all church picture, for Men’s Golf and the Women’s Retreat, for our new staff and for youth and college events, for Life Groups starting back up and for Kids Ministry going crazy and growing. I am excited for how God uses all of these things to make a difference in people’s lives – to fix our brokenness and let us know we are loved and redeemed in Him – and find rest.
