The Covenant has this simple way to give to global missions – it is called “Friends of World Missions”. There are 6 projects a year, and together those in the Covenant raise money to help with projects across the world. Simple, and powerful.
The current project:
The Giving Hope through Opportunities Center is the next step in empowering women in Medellín, Colombia to discover and develop their artistic talents, and to build a business. Through training and the encouragement of an entrepreneurial spirit, low-income women use God-given creativity in their neighborhoods to earn an honest income.
The church is uniquely positioned to provide alternatives for vocational training and opportunities for employment in these difficult communities where employment is not easy to find. The Giving Hope through Opportunities Center will offer classes in arts and crafts, beautician skills, sewing, and small business administration. It will also serve as a production center for a variety of clothing and artisan items that will be sold in stores.
FOWM Project #211 seeks to raise $40,000 to purchase property which will house the new center.
