God Moves Even When Life Is Hard

0

It is an amazing time in the life of our church. We had an incredible Thanksgiving Eve service, and we are finishing the Year of the Bible. We have Advent Dinners this Sunday and get to hear our kids singing. We hear amazing testimonies of how God has changed lives and get to hear Advent readings in different languages. We have great ministry for kids, youth, and college/career (with winter camps coming up for youth and college!). Life Groups are strong, and we are serving in our community, and planning on a mission trip to France, and supporting missionaries around the world (Thailand and France). God is moving.

As we head into the Christmas season, though, it is not the “most wonderful time of the year” for everyone. Many are lonely and struggling with isolation, depression, and anxiety. Many have family issues, personal issues, or health problems. Even in church there can be people we have a hard time with or who have said things that hurt our feelings. Where is God – and His incredible power – when life seems so hard?

The light shines in the darkness. Isaiah 9:2 says that those walking in darkness have seen a great light. God did not come into a perfect world but into a broken world. He still comes to shine His light into our broken lives. God is moving even when life is hard. In our church there are incredible things happening, and lives are being changed and transformed as people respond to the light of Christ. There is also a lot of pain people are going through – but we are never alone. We have the love of Christ in our hearts and in our church family.

God is moving; let us keep moving with Him.
