Last week I shared about missionaries that our church supports in France. We also support another missionary in Thailand named Cheryl Santello. (By the way, we give 10% of our offerings to support church planting, global missions, and our larger church family.)
Cheryl has been in Thailand as a short-term missionary for over a year. She is planning on being there for another year. She has been involved in camping ministry for many years, serving at Alpine Camp and Conference Center, a Covenant camp in southern California. A little over a year ago, the Lord called her to serve in Chang Mai, Thailand. She is still in camping ministry – now serving at a camp in Thailand! There are teams from the USA that are joining Thai and Laotian teams and building a new building at camp. The materials are being paid for by funds donated by Covenant camps around the country. Cheryl is also teaching English in Thailand, one of the most sought after skills in Thailand. She meets three times a week with adults and children to share the gift of language, and share God’s love. Cheryl is also using her administrative gifts to help out a counseling ministry for missionaries. Cheryl is a single woman who loves Jesus and is serving Him in Thailand. She has a wonderful dog, and God has surrounded her – even as she left home and her community of support – with incredible new relationships. Keep Cheryl in your prayers. To contact her or join her update list, email cheryl.santello@covchurch.org. To personally support her, go to http://www.covchurch.org/mission/csantello/#more-7383.
We are so blessed to support Cheryl and the work God has called her to. There are many people in our church who also support missionaries. There are people in our church who have been missionaries in the past. And there are people in our church who God will call to become missionaries – it might even be you!
We follow the call of Jesus (Acts 1:8) to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth.
I am so incredibly blessed to be partners in ministry with the people of Covenant Grove Church. Your prayers, love and financial support allow me the freedom to serve here in Thailand. I pray God will bless you for your faithfulness and trust in God’s supreme provision.
Thank you for joining all of us who support Cheryl is this important work. Her gift of administration is now proving more valuable to the Counseling Center as they are overburdened with a high volume of needs. May God continue to bless Covenant Grove as you bless others!
