Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus taught His followers how to fish for men and women (Matt 4:19) – they were told how to proclaim God’s Kingdom and love, help and heal people, and support others. They were to be on the go with Jesus, living out His call every step of the way (Matt 28:18-20). Being a witness for Jesus is not something that is an “add on” for Christians, it is part of the very definition of being a Christ follower.
We are witnesses. We don’t need to have the perfect words or be great public speakers. All we need to do is tell others about what God has done for us, and in our lives. Every day we can experience Him more, and we can tell others more about how walking with Jesus changes life. Jesus doesn’t take away all of our problems – He walks with us, loves us, and gives us His strength and peace.  We love people deeply, because the love of Christ is inside of us. This means we listen to people, care deeply for them, and pray for them constantly. We are sharing the love of Christ with others – this starts with taking the time to listen and show the love of God.
Covenant Grove Church was started to live out the Kingdom of God – to transform religious and irreligious people into Fully Devoted Followers of Christ. Many Christians need to embrace the call of Christ to be witnesses. This is an exciting challenge, and God will stretch and grow the ones who will follow Him and share new life with others. Witnessing is something we can do in the beginning, middle, and mature stages of our faith – because Jesus always has a heart for the lost. The Holy Spirit is already speaking to every person on the planet, calling them to the Father. We don’t need to convert people, we only need to witness. May we be faithful to follow Christ and tell the world about His love!
