As we head into 2015 there are so many exciting things ahead for Covenant Grove – we will be worshiping in a new location this year, sending a team to France, sending next generation groups to Tennessee and St. Louis, serving in our city, reaching out to the lost, and having a blast every Sunday morning. As I look at all that we have even begun to dream and plan for 2015, I am SO thankful that I am not in charge of everything.
Now let me be clear, I am the pastor and I take that responsibility very seriously. When I say “I am not in charge” I mean that my job is to follow Jesus. He is the one leading our church, softening hearts, providing opportunities, and opening doors. I tried for months to find a place to rent; it was a big stressful struggle. Then everything came together at Orchard Elementary in one week. Whoa! We are not sure if that location will work out (keep that in prayer) – but that is God at work. I had to do a lot of work that week, but it all came together because I was waiting for God to answer at the right time, and I was ready to drop my plans and follow Him. It is hard waiting, and exciting to move as the Lord opens doors.
We are making plans in prayer for 2015 – but know for sure that Jesus is the King of Covenant Grove Church. We will follow Him and stay on His mission to reach more people with His love – we will never stop reaching out. Be devoted to Him, make big choices with Him, have 2015 be an incredible year of serving the Savior. I am not in charge – of my own life or the church – and that is a good thing. I am a follower of Jesus. What an adventure!!
