I love being a pastor. Some days are pretty tough, but in general it is a very exciting job – being able to help people, teach people, and point them towards God’s amazing and unending love.
Right now is a great time in the life of Covenant Grove. We are 3 1/2 years old, and there are SO MANY good things going on right now. Our College/Career ministry has over 20 people a week, our Youth Ministry is going on a Mission Trip, our church just raised over $1200 for those with special needs in the Philippines, and mailed clothes, and had God’s Special Kids Camp. Our Kids Ministry is working on new events and teaching strategies. Women’s ministry is starting up in a new way, and Men’s ministry is getting stronger and stronger, on top of our best Life Group season ever. We have people working behind the scenes in Vitality ministry – helping with office and finances and admin. Our Worship Team is releasing a CD! And our Sunday morning teams are so faithful and so incredible. We have the majority of our church serving in ministry, and we have almost 60 people ready to sign our charter membership on August 11 – that is coming up!
All of this speaks to God’s incredible power moving at Covenant Grove. It also speaks to LEADERSHIP growing in our church. People join our church, even from day one, willing to serve, but a little scared to lead. The Lord has grown so many people – and shown them that He has given them gifts to lead as they follow and serve Him. What a difference that makes!
It has been almost 4 years Covenant Grove – and God is doing such incredible things. I am so blessed to be your pastor – what an adventure it has been. I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next 4 years – and 40 years! Let us keep our eyes on Christ, and on reaching Modesto and Riverbank for Him. Stay strong in Him!
