I will just start by saying that looking back is not always a good idea. When you are driving your car, and when you are living your life, if you spend all your time looking back then you are going to get hurt. Paul even said that he forgot what was behind and fixed his eyes on what was ahead in Jesus (Philippians 3:13). Just like driving, though, it is important to check your mirrors and look back from time to time. The end of the year is a great time to do this.
As I look back on 2014 at Covenant Grove, I am so thankful. It is amazing all that God has done in our church family. We have sent teams to Seattle and northern California to serve. We have put on a day camp for kids with special needs. Our youth ministry is growing. We have new leaders rising up in our church. Most of all, lives are being transformed by Jesus – in Modesto, Riverbank, Escalon, Oakdale, Ripon, and Ceres. Families are being changed as people surrender to Christ. Finances are changing for people as they learn biblical budgeting, contentment, and generosity. People are diving into God’s Word and growing stronger. I am so thankful as I see the lives being changed in our church and through our church.
I am so thankful for you. Continue to walk with Jesus Christ. Let Him show you the blind spots in your life, and grow closer to Him. Take some time to look back, and be thankful. God bless you!
