This Sunday, Covenant Grove Church will be having our first services in our new building. What a success!
What is the success?
It is not the building, the projects, the changes made, the decorations, the money raised, or the property. None of these define God’s church.
Success in the Kingdom of God is measured by faith – devoted lives trusting the Lord and being transformed.
Success is the hours and hours given to God’s work,
& the generosity that gave so much money for a legacy of faith,
& the gifts that have been used to make the changes and decorate the spaces.
Success is the conversations that have happened as people have worked together,
& the new relationships that have been formed,
& the laughter that has happened (and sometimes even injuries),
& the prayers that have taken place, even in the midst of busy days.
Success is still yet to come. Our heart is to follow God’s heart for the lost, to reach out and share His hope.
All of this work has been done for the mission of Jesus – to the glory of God. Success will be when people come and find God’s hope. Our prayer is that they will look past the building and decorations and see Jesus. May they be touched by God’s Spirit. May they be surrounded by God’s people – as imperfect as we are – and know that they will never have to walk alone.
Let Hope Rise.
So here is to a successful first Sunday. May our lives be successful, measured in devotion. Here is giving thanks for a successful 6 years of ministry so far – may we successfully serve Him for 60 more (should He not return).
