God never misses an opportunity to grow our trust in Him. He has given us the chance to buy property and a building, and the challenge to raise $120,000 (plus $30,000 for improvements) in just a few months. This will be something that will stretch us!
Already I am hearing stories of faith. Someone has an aunt across the country who has chosen to give to our fund, which is a stretch financially for her. Someone has a lemonade stand for a day and will donate the profits. Others in our church are working on a rummage sale. An accountant is feeling God challenge him to ask his generous clients to consider giving to God’s work at Covenant Grove. A family in our church is refinancing their house and getting a little money back – rather than go to a theme park, they are giving the money for the Kingdom. People are giving sacrificially and finding new ways to give, and seeing their faith grow to completely new levels.
One of my favorite quotes (from Jesus) is “Where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.” God is challenging our church (and many others) to put their treasure in His Kingdom. We can sacrifice for the One who sacrificed for us. Our hope is that every single person – from the youngest to the oldest – will find a way to give to the opportunity God has given our church family. We don’t want anyone to miss the joy of knowing you contributed sacrificially to moving the mission forward.
God is not just raising funds, He is raising faith. He will use this season to grow you – don’t miss what He is trying to do in your life!
