Our church is growing. This has been an exciting time where God is bringing people to find a church home, to know His Word more, and to experience His love in community. It has been exciting to have a vision to reach people and grow people fully devoted to Jesus – and to see that happen more and more.
People are also broken. So the more people who come, the more brokenness you will have, right? This last week there has been a minor deluge of issues that our church has carried together with Christ. From hard prayers in Life Groups to pastoral counseling sessions – we are broken people, and we are bearing a lot of pains inside of us. The Church doesn’t exist just to listen to problems, as important as that is – but to bring brokenness to Jesus and watch Him transform pain into healed strength.
We have been growing, and the brokenness does not break our church – because we constantly pray, constantly point people to Christ. I love looking out on a Sunday morning seeing people connecting to Christ in worship, or after service seeing people – week after week – being prayed for – on the spot as they share a need. We listen, we bear burdens together, and we PRAY and invite God to put the pieces back together in broken hearts. The brokenness does not make us weaker – but stronger as we are put back together by Jesus.
Keep reaching out. Keep praying. Your brokenness is welcome at Covenant Grove. Allow Christ to remake you, heal you, stronger in His love. Be ready for more brokenness to come to our church – and watch for the Holy Spirit to do His amazing work and transform broken hearts into lives of love and joy – that reach out more and more.
