What an amazing day it was last Sunday. What an amazing month it has been! We have moved out of Enochs High School – with a lot of hard work from a lot of people. We moved into Orchard Elementary on Saturday – also with a lot of hard work. Along the way we have been praying a ton, and also eating a bunch – hey, these are celebration times! And last Sunday we worshiped the Lord who is leading us in His love. We had a bunch of new people, we waved at people as they drove by and wondered what was happening, and we shared God’s love and His Word with people. It was a great Sunday, and we are going to keep it up week after week!
Ephesians 5 says “Live a life of love, following the example of Christ. … You have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” (verses 2, 8). Our goal is to shine His love, to listen and encourage people in their struggles, and point them closer and closer to Christ. We are in a new location – but we have not changed our fun, or worship, or His mission. There is always hard work in moving the mission forward – but we are willing to do the work and shine His love.
People are drawn to the light – to God’s joy, strength, and comfort in pain. We will continue to shine His light, even though we are not a perfect church or perfect people. We will be authentic about our brokenness and His ability to transform life, we will continue to shine. We will continue to reach out to our world and invite them home – your family is waiting, the door is open, the light is on.
