A few months ago I was meeting with a pastor friend, and talking about looking for a rental and property. He listened to me and prayed for me. His prayer took me off guard; he prayed, “Lord may You not make this easy, so that faith may be stretched.” I have to admit that at first I wasn’t super happy to hear this prayer. Lord, this is a big deal – I will be ok if this time it is easy! As I thought about it, though, I realized this was a great prayer from a brother in ministry.
We have a rental update: we have applied to rent at Orchard Elementary School. This would be a huge blessing for our Kids Ministry to be able to meet in kids classrooms. It would also be a little less setup and tear down time. This location would be a huge answer to months of prayer. The school district called and let me know we have a tentative “yes”, and we will know for sure by the end of the week. They also said – and here is the faith stretching part – they would start by only approving us for a few months.
Yes, it is faith stretching and can cause a little anxiety. We did go through the same process in the school we are at now. The district wants to make sure we are good renters. Once again I have to remember that the Lord is with us, and He will not abandon us. We will have a location to worship Him as we continue to serve Him and share His love.
Faith is being stretched, and prayers are being answered. I am excited for these days – days I can tell my kids and grandkids about – days that grow faith and reliance on Christ alone. Thank you for reading this blog, for praying for our church family, and being part of the journey!
