Moses is a man of prayer. He has come to know that God loves and will protect His people. Even though the people cry out and complain in fear, Moses is not afraid – he knows the Lord will protect and deliver them. Moses is a great leader here – he calls the people to remember the Lord.
And he prays. I love v.15 – God tells him – “Stop praying! Get moving!” Prayer is vital to our lives with God, and there is a time to stop praying and then act. We need to pray first. God is on the move – and when He is moving, we need to move with Him.
I have loved being a part of a church plant for the last 4 years – God has truly been on the move. I have never felt so compelled to be down on my knees than when I am trying to keep up with all God is doing. It has allowed me to get out of the way, and live much more expectantly – what is God going to do today? I am in much less control now than I was 4 years ago – I have a lot less figured out. And yet I feel so much more free – on the move with Jesus.
