James 5:7-9

0

Why do we love to grumble so much?  I know I do!  When I am tired, when things don’t go my way, when people are frustrating me – grumble, grumble, grumble.

It is not that I want to be mean or hurt anyone – I just want to grumble a little – to vent to myself or to a friend.  Grumble, grumble.  It doesn’t hurt anyone, does it?  It does.

When we grumble we change our attitude – we tell ourselves that what we feel is right, and the other people or things are wrong.  When we grumble we are not coming to God, getting His love and perspective and security, knowing it will be ok because He is near.  He is coming soon; He is by my side; I have nothing to fear.  And so I have nothing to grumble about, and my attitude can stay strong in Him, no matter what.
