Verses 11-12 are a call for Christians to fight for justice. I can not sit passively on the sidelines and do nothing when I see a world of injustice. For me, being passive is not the problem. The problem is that there is so much information going on – and so I see injustice constantly. I want to turn off the news or my news app. I don’t want to know.
My first step is to be aware, and to cover these things in prayer. I need to pray so that I know where God is calling me to be active, where to support, and where to let others act and lead. I know God has called me to be a pastor and help in people’s lives and problems, and point them to Jesus. I support global missions and serve locally. These are simple, and little steps, and sometimes we get the guilt ride from people serving in other areas – thinking that all people need to be doing what they are doing, but that is not God’s plan.
God will judge my life, and all lives. The call is not to do all things, but to follow Christ, and be obedient in all things – big and small.
