Every summer, we go through a sermon series called God at the Movies – and this comes with a series of events! There are movies to watch in theaters, some you can watch at home, and even a kids movie night at church. Some of the events need to be signed up for ahead of time, so please check out the list below. See a movie together, invite some friends, and then join us the following Sunday to hear a Biblical sermon on themes from that week’s movie!
Top Gun – private showing
Thursday, June 2, 7:00pm
70 people attended the showing of Top Gun: Maverick, including many who don’t regularly attend church at Covenant Grove! The sermon can be found here or watched on our YouTube channel.
Jurassic World – watch together
Sunday, June 12, 4:00pm
Jurassic World : Dominion is our next “in theaters” movie for 2022.
Another group of movie-goers watched Jurassic World: Dominion together on June 12. If you are interested in seeing the movie, it’s not too late! Find a theater with a showing that works for you, and invite someone to join you! The Jurassic World sermon will be on June 19- invite someone to join you at church too!
Arrival and Lion King – watch at home
We are doing two available-at-home movies this year. If you would like to watch the film before hearing the sermon, make sure to watch them before the Sunday they are listed on! Consider hosting a watch party for these- you could even host a follow-up watch party of the live stream for a great evangelism opportunity.
