In our world today, kids are experiencing information overload with the internet and social media at their fingertips. What they can discover with a single tap is more than we could have ever imagined. However, this technology can be used in many beneficial ways. Like being able to stay in touch with family and friends that live across the country or having the Bible readily accessible in their pocket.

We must remember though, that we live in a sinful world. The information that kids could have access to is dark and dangerous. The enemy is using this technology to distract and destroy those who get caught in his web of lies. There’s good news though! We have power over the enemy given to us by the Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus Christ.

We can keep a watchful eye on our kids and teach them how to be safe, but the most important thing that we all must do is pray for our kids. It doesn’t matter whether you have a houseful of kids, or no kids at all, you have the power of prayer.

Here are some verses and prayers that our kids need poured out for them. Take some time today to pray for the kids in your home, neighborhood, church, and across the world.

PROTECTION

“But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3

Pray for protection over their physical self, as well as their mind. Pray for protection online and from impure images on social media, the internet, in books, or in magazines.

DIRECTION

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”

Psalms 37:23

Pray that their steps are ordered by the Lord as He directs and guides them. Pray that they have a heart for the things of God, and that they seek His direction as they make choices on their own.

LOVE FOR THE WORD

“They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.”

Psalms 19:10

Pray for them to have a deep love for the Word of God. That they delight in it and meditate on it day and night. Pray that they find it more precious than gold and sweeter than honey.

SALVATION

“Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

Acts 2:38-39

Pray for a heart of repentance as they grow and for the Holy Spirit to fill and permeate their life. Salvation is a promise to “you and your children.” That’s exciting! Be excited about this promise as you pray!

There is one final reminder from the Word of God as you begin your prayers for the kids. “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18
