God at the Movies
Movies tell stories, and those stories have themes and points in them. We will honestly explore the themes in these movies, seeing how they compare with Scripture. The sermons will focus on the Bible’s point, why it is important, and how to live it out in our lives. This series also helps us think more about the stories, media, and information we are taking in every day. You don’t to watch the movie to get something out of the sermon, and make sure you check the rating to ensure it is a movie you want to watch.
We love the Bible, and we love movies. This series is all about how those two go together, and the intersection of Christ and culture. This Sunday, we will look at the Movie Remember the Titans. This is the perfect series for inviting friends—so invite like crazy and make sure you make it every week!
Potluck and Missionary Visit
June 27 is going to be an amazing Sunday! We have our services with worship and a message in our God at the Movies series. We will have Greg and Kristi Fauss, missionaries from Germany visiting. And we will have a POTLUCK together between services (10:10am). Please bring a dish to share if you can. There may just be some special German dishes, too. Fun, food, connecting—yeah, we love all those things!! This is going to be an amazing Sunday!!!
We will have a brief All Church Meeting on Sunday, June 27, at 1:00pm, on Zoom. If you need the Zoom link, email the church office. All are welcome; members will be voting for David Gingerich to join our Church Council, and for Brent and Serena Sinclair to be called as Associate Pastors for our church family.
New Devotion: Psalms book 3-4
Our devotional life is as important as eating; without prayer and time in God’s word, our souls run out of fuel. The psalms are biblical prayers that cover the whole range of human emotion, including anger, fear, trust, anxiety, sadness, and joy. Reading and studying them can help us know God more, through the highs and lows of life, and be able to hear His voice.
Our church highly values reading the Bible every day in a relationship with our Father. Grab a devotional card. Or pick up a booklet with devotional thoughts and space for journaling. We also post the devotions on our social media every day, with thoughts from our pastors, and you are welcome to share your thoughts too.
